My experience at Edgewood Christian School has been fun and full of learning. I have learned much from all of my teachers and the students alike. Everyone here has been fun and helpful. I loved learning so many new things and it was an enjoyable trip. Although this school is small, it has been a huge influence in my life. It has helped me advance my academic knowledge and it has helped me advance spiritually and in my relationship with God. This school has proved to me that even a little person can make a difference in the world, because they support 5 Thailand orphans. Just by donating, I have also helped support these needy children.
The best part of this school is chapel. In chapel I am able to hear God talk to me. It calms me and helps me to think straight throughout the rest of the week. It gives me confidence and strength, allowing me to help others whenever I can. I will pray that more students can come here and be influenced the way that I have.
As my daughter reached the age of eligibility for kindergarten I was reluctant to enroll her in our public school system. I was seriously thinking of homeschooling but wasn't sure if I had it in me. After talking to several mothers at my church, they mentioned that Edgewood Christian School was where their children were enrolled. My daughter's first day of school was not the normal, scary, hesitant feeling that most children have on their first day. Upon entering Ms. Connie's class and looking around the classroom, I knew it was the place for my daughter. Each week that went by my daughter was coming home with projects and work that I could not believe she was learning at her age. The environment at the school and within classrooms is structured so that each child feels they are the most important child in the class. The teacher/student ratio is phenominal; it's almost like having a private tutor for your child. Staff at ECS becomes a second family to your little ones. They love and care for them just as if they were one of their own. The discipline level within the school is structured so that each child knows what is acceptable at school and what is not. They teach your child to not only respect other children but also their elders. We don't see too much of that these days. Your child will learn that God should always be number one in your life and to look to Him for guidance and reassurance throughout one's life. I am hoping that by the time my daughter reaches her high school years that Edgewood Christian School will be able to provide the educational resources for her. There is no other school in the East Mountain area that stands up to what Edgewood Christian School has to offer.
My girls have been attending ECS for 4 years and they love it! We tried to home school once and when that didn't fit our schedules, I told them they were returning to ECS and they were turning cartwheels they were so happy! We feel very privileged to be able to send our girls to a solid Christian school. We are so grateful we have the opportunity.
My grandson started ECS this fall at 6th grade. He loves the school and enjoys the Christian atmosphere and curriculum, as do his grandparents (we are raising him). Students perform better when they know that their teachers love and care about them. This is something he did not experience in public school. He is thriving much better now that he is at ECS. He has a short attention span, has difficulty staying on task, and has difficulty remembering what he is supposed to do. Mrs. K is very systematic in her teaching which makes it easier for him to follow and easier for me. The smaller classroom makes it easier for my grandson to get his work done at school and stay on task. Because of the way that Math is taught, he is remembering what he has learned since part of his paper is always review. I’m glad that Language is taught, as it is not stressed in Public School. This is important as I use it every day in my work place. The History and Science books are extremely interesting, which helps keep the kids interested. We love reading them too! We have also seen an improvement in his overall behavior and character. We thank ECS for all that they have done to help our grandson (and us).
